Welcome to St. Peter's Syriac Orthodox Church

About St. Peter’s Syriac Orthodox Church – Phoenix, Arizona

St. Peter’s Syriac Orthodox Church in Phoenix, Arizona is a vibrant parish serving the faithful of the Syriac Orthodox tradition in the greater Phoenix area. Rooted in the ancient apostolic heritage of the Syriac Orthodox Church, our parish continues the living liturgical and spiritual traditions that trace their origins to the early Christian communities of Antioch.

Our church is a parish of the Malankara Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church in North America, which shepherds the Malankara faithful across the United States and Canada. The archdiocese functions under the spiritual authority of the Apostolic See of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch and All the East, one of the oldest Christian churches in the world.

The Syriac Orthodox Church preserves the rich West Syriac liturgical tradition, which has been faithfully maintained for nearly two millennia. Our worship centers on the Holy Qurbono (Holy Eucharist), celebrated according to the ancient liturgy of St. James, the first bishop of Jerusalem. Through prayer, sacraments, and community life, the faithful are invited to participate in the spiritual heritage of the early Church.

At St. Peter’s, we strive to nurture a community rooted in faith, service, and fellowship. Our parish serves families of all generations, offering regular worship services, spiritual education, youth activities, and opportunities for community service.

As a parish dedicated to the teachings of Christ and the traditions of the Syriac Orthodox Church, St. Peter’s welcomes all who seek to experience the beauty of the ancient Christian faith and the warmth of a prayerful community.
